CenturyLink Teachers and Technology Grant- STEM Integration
New laptops, a STEM vending machine and iPads are on the way to three schools in Greeley-Evans School District 6 after teachers were awarded grants through CenturyLink's Teachers & Technology program.
Congratulations to Karah Whiddon from Greeley Central High School for receiving a $4,995 Teachers and Technology Grant from CenturyLink.
At Northridge High School, English teacher Joshua Seematter plans to use the $4,995 he was awarded to purchase 22 new Chromebook laptops to help with project-based learning.
CenturyLink believes that STEM education is critical to meeting the demands of a rapidly changing workplace and developing the talented and well-prepared workforce of tomorrow. Greeley Central High School’s Business Department will use these funds to automate their student based enterprise and provide students a hands-on opportunity to operate a business venture while in high school.
The Teachers & Technology program, which emphasizes science, technology, engineering, and math concepts, plans to give $145,000 to 32 teachers across Colorado in May. Nationally, the program will provide a total of $1.4 million in grants to teachers.
