2019 Moriya, Japan Student Exchange Program
Did you know the City of Greeley and Moriya, Japan, have been celebrating and fostering a Sister City relationship for more than 20 years?
During the summer of every odd year, such as in 2019, the City of Greeley organizes approximately ten high school students to visit Moriya, Japan, for a week or two, as part of a student exchange program. During even years, such as in 2020, Greeley families host Moriya students.
The Sister City Student Exchange Program is a wonderful opportunity for students from both cities to explore each other's countries and learn more about their cultures, traditions, and ways of life.
If you excel in academics, are a Greeley resident, are interested in fun and adventure, and are excited about the possibility of developing life-long friendships with people from across the Pacific Ocean, then a trip to Moriya, Japan is perfect for you!
Students living in Greeley, in grades 9 through 12 (ages 14-18) during the 2019-2020 school year are encouraged to speak with their school counselor. Applications are due January 21, 2019. Applications and instructions can be found at greeleygov.com/activities/sister-city. Call Cultural Affairs Manager Jason Evenson at 970-350-9482 for more information.
