JHS Grading

The Jefferson staff piloted a Standards-Based gradebook for the 2022-2023 school year, we learned a lot. Students will be evaluated on what they know and how they demonstrate their mastery of the Colorado Academic Standards, but in many classes, they will also earn attendance or participation grades (limited to 10% of the overall grade).

We believe students' grades will more accurately reflect their knowledge and skills, and that this grading philosophy will stop students from being penalized for factors outside of their control.

Speak to your individual teachers about what this will look like in your classes.
