Delayed Monday Start Next Year

After receiving feedback from District 6 teachers, principals and parents/guardians, it has been decided that for the 2021-2022 school year, starting August 12, all schools will have a delayed start on Mondays. This will replace the early release on Wednesday that was enacted this year.

For the remainder of this school year, early release will still be in place on Wednesdays.

Beginning next school year, all non-charter District 6 schools will start one hour later on Mondays. Schools will be communicating the exact Monday start time to parents before school starts in August.

This late start will give teachers and staff time to plan for the week, meet in teams and engage in professional development.

Limited supervision will be provided to students who must arrive early on Mondays. Parents and guardians who need to drop off students early on Mondays next year should communicate this to the school before the first day.
If you have any other questions, please reach out to your school office or administrator.
