S. Christa McAuliffe STEM Academy Topping Ceremony

S. Christa McAuliffe STEM Academy celebrated a milestone in its 2019 Bond Issue construction project.

The school and contractor, Sampson Construction, hosted a Topping Ceremony, which is when the last and highest steel beam is put into place. The tree on the beam is symbolic of growing from a seed and reaching for the stars. Students and staff at the school were able to sign their names to on the beam with permanent marker before it was placed. The 55,000-square-foot addition to McAuliffe is scheduled to be completed in December 2021. This addition and renovation will provide a new gymnasium, as well as enough classrooms to get ride of 16 portable classrooms now in use at the site. Thank you to the voters of Greeley and Evans for approving the Bond Issue and helping our students have the schools they deserve!
