How to apply for the D6 Online Academy: Mid-Year School Transfer

 

  1. In-District Student Mid-Year School Transfer Request:

If your student is currently enrolled in another District 6 school and you are interested in applying for a school transfer, you must complete the school transfer request. Please click on this link OR use the following steps to find this form:  

  1. Visit the www.greeleyschools.org web page.

  2. Find the Families tab at the top of the page and click on it. 

  3. You will be directed to a Family Directory page where you will search under the A's for the Admissions tab. Once located, please click on the link to be directed to a new webpage.

  4. You will need to locate the school transfer request form, which can be found on the left-hand side of the page. Once located, click on the school transfer link that will direct you to a webpage. 

  5.  School Transfer Request is a google form that can be completed in English and Spanish. You only need to complete this form once. 

 

 B. Out-of-District Student Mid-year Transfer request: 

There are two steps for applying to the Online Academy if your student is not currently enrolled at a school in District 6.

 

  1. If you would like to enroll your student for a mid-year transfer, you will need to complete the School Transfer Request form. Instructions are listed In section A

 

  1. You will need to complete the New to D6 application. Please click on this link OR use the following steps to find this form:  

 

  1. Visit the www.greeleyschools.org web page.

  2. Find the Families Tab found at the top of the page and click on it. 

  3. You will be directed to a Family Directory page where you will search under the A's for the Admissions tab. Once located, please click on the link to be directed to a new webpage.

  4. Select the bolded text labeled "REGISTER NOW."  

  5. You will be directed to complete the New to D6 application. If you have any questions or issues, please get in touch with the admissions office at 970-348-6062.



C. Commonly Questions Asked:

What do you look at when deciding eligibility for the D6 Online Academy?

  • All applications will be reviewed based on the following criteria: current school attendance, grades, behavior, level of commitment, and ability to serve a student's needs based on educational plans. An interview may be required with the Family Advocate or an Administrator before enrollment is approved.

 

  • High school students and families may be required to sign a contract ensuring on-time graduation requirements will be met in order to remain at the Online Academy. Student progress (attendance/academic standing) is reviewed weekly to determine continued eligibility and/or required transfer to alternative or boundary schools in order to meet district guidelines for all students attending comprehensive high schools.

 

  • In most cases, students will be accepted and allowed to remain at the Online Academy if the following conditions are being met:

    • Enter Senior Year with 16+ credits and proven attendance record

    • Enter Junior Year with 10+ credits and proven attendance record

    • Enter Sophomore Year with 4+ credits and proven attendance record

    • All students: Absences at any time do not exceed 10%

 

What school do I select if my student's current school is not listed?

  • Select the D6 Online Academy as your current school. 

 

When will I know if my student's application has been reviewed and accepted? 

  • All applications will be reviewed within 3-4 business days, and all notifications will be sent via email.
