August Update

Posted by D6 Communications Office on 8/19/2013

The design development phase of the new middle school is nearly complete. All the mechanical systems have been selected, program space has been allocated, the kitchen design has been reviewed and technology needs have been reviewed. The architectural finishes have been selected, including color scheme, floor finishes and other cosmetic items.

We are now ready to enter the construction development phase, including the finalization of construction drawings. Once these are complete, sometime in December, construction bids will be solicited.

District 6 officials are also getting closer to defining the scope of offsite improvements, including the intersection of 65th Avenue and 37th Street. The extension of a potable water line and sewer line to the school site is being coordinated, as well as the extension of utilities, such as power, natural gas and communications.

We are also accepting suggestions through August 30 for the name, mascot and colors for the new school. We have already gotten many great suggestions. Enter yours at www.greeleyschools.org/namenewschool.
