April Update

Things are moving along at the site of the Prairie Heights Middle School. Those passing by may have noticed trucks moving dirt and construction trailers being placed in the site. The City of Evans is about to issue the final development plan on the site. Chief Operations Officer Wayne Eads will be making a presentation to the Evans City Council on May 20. The state-issued building permit is also ready to be picked up in Denver and the site and building plan has received comments from the Weld County Department of Public Health. So all the plans are starting to fall in place to build a state-of-the-art school for hundreds of middle school students.

Another exciting development: There is a place on the exterior of the school to etch quotes that represent the school. John Evans Middle School Principal Dawn Hillman asked her students to submit quote, and they came up with some winners. The proposed quotes include: "Winners never quit and quitters never win" by Vince Lombardi and "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world," by Nelson Mandela. Pretty powerful quotes for middle school students!
