Greeley-Evans School District 6 is hosting a public tour of Prairie Heights Middle School, which is under construction at the intersection of 65th Avenue and 37th Street in Evans.
The tour of the school will take place from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 22. The parking lot for Prairie Heights is located on the south side of the school, and can be accessed from 65th Avenue about 200 yards south of the 37th Street intersection. Residents are urged to stop by anytime during the tour window and see their tax dollars at work
Prairie Heights is an active construction site, so those on the tour are urged to wear sturdy shoes with rubber soles. The school is about 70 percent complete.
District 6 staff will be available along the tour route to explain the layout of the building. The tour will take about 20-30 minutes.
Prairie Heights Middle School will open in August this year. It is being constructed to replace John Evans Middle School, and is funded by both a Building Excellent Schools Today grant and a bond issue that was approved by District 6 voters in 2012.
