To determine if your child is eligible for preschool through the Colorado Preschool Program (CPP) or Special Education preschool, an application packet must be filled out prior to children being placed in a preschool classroom. Your packet will include a preschool application, language form, health questionnaire, and two Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ & ASQ SE). When you return the packet to the District 6 Early Childhood Center or Child Find Office, you will need to bring in your child's birth certificate and proof of residency and our staff will make a copy of it.
The Early Childhood Principal and a member of the Colorado Preschool Program Advisory Council will review all applications and a letter will be sent home to notify families if their child has qualified for preschool or if further evaluation is needed. Children are placed in classrooms based on eligibility factors and open slots at CPP locations.
Upon approval of your child's placement in the program, we require a registration packet to be completed prior to your child starting school.
