Alijah Cortez wants to be an agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation someday. Her dream is to study Criminal Justice next year at San Diego State University, if she can save enough money to afford the tuition.
Alijah knows how crime can rip apart families and lives. It nearly destroyed both for her when her father murdered her stepmother when she was a young girl. She struggled through adolescence and finally realized her resiliency and determination would help her forge a new path for herself and her siblings. Now, she wants to help prevent serious crimes from impacting the lives of others.
Alijah will graduate from Northridge High School Friday with a 3.9 GPA and a bright future.
