D6 Gives Back
D6 Gives Back encourages school district employees to volunteer with a community organization where they may use their talents and time to support the community. District 6 is introducing a new leave category called Volunteer Leave Opportunity (VLO), and will launch a pilot program with a select group of employees from October 7th - January 31st, 2025. The program will include:
-
8 hours of paid volunteer leave for employees annually
-
One-time projects, half-day activities, or multiple events
-
Process for tracking volunteer hours
-
Community partners identified for participation
In order to utilize VLO, the volunteer activity must be completed within the Greeley and Evans communities. Additionally, a list of pre-approved volunteer organizations has been identified for this pilot project.
Eligibility
D6 Gives Back is part of Innovation 2030: Strengthening Partnerships. The plan is to roll this out to all employees in the future; however, the pilot program is for a select group of cabinet-approved employees.
Participation in this program is completely optional. Please note, participation is at your own risk and worker's compensation coverage and other benefits will not extend to this program.
